Custom Wardrobe Installations in Newtown & Lovely Banks

Recently, we have completed two unique walk in wardrobe installations—one in Newtown and the other in Lovely Banks (Victoria, Australia). Each project had its own challenges and design requirements, but the end results were beautifully optimised storage solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
Newtown Installation – Two Separate Rooms
In Newtown, we worked on a home that required custom wardrobes in two separate rooms. The design in each space followed a similar structure but was tailored to suit different storage needs.
Maximising Storage with a U-Shaped Design
The first room featured a U-shaped wardrobe configuration, allowing us to utilise all three walls for storage while eliminating any wasted corner space. By doing this, we ensured every inch of the wardrobe was practical and accessible.
- Back Wall: The centrepiece of the setup was a four-drawer unit with full-extension, soft-close drawers.
- Above it, we installed adjustable shelves, providing flexible storage for folded clothes, accessories, and other items.
- Left Side: This section featured full-length hanging space, ideal for dresses, coats, and longer garments.
- Right Side: We incorporated medium hanging space, perfect for items like suits, jackets, and shorter dresses.
- Pants Storage: On the far left, we included a piggybacked pants rack designed for both his-and-hers convenience. This rack featured a top and bottom tier, both on full-extension soft-close runners. To ensure the pants stayed in place without creasing or slipping off overnight, we applied a special Teflon coating to the arms of the rack.
- Shoe Storage & Additional Hanging: To the right of the pants rack, we installed an adjustable shoe unit, followed by a double hanging section with an intermediate shelf to provide extra storage for folded clothing or accessories.
Although the project took place in the same home, the second room featured a slightly different configuration. While the elements remained similar—drawer units, corner storage, and a mix of full and double hanging—the layout was optimised for the space available. This setup could have been a his-and-hers wardrobe design, giving each person their own organised space within separate rooms.
The home itself was a two-storey property, and the wardrobes were installed on both levels. The final result was a cohesive, stylish, and highly functional storage solution that fit seamlessly into the overall aesthetic of the home.
Second Room – A Matching Setup
Lovely Banks Custom Wardrobe Installation – Clever Storage Around a Window
The Lovely Banks project came with a unique challenge—designing a wardrobe that worked around a window while still providing ample storage. Our team created a solution that balanced form and function beautifully.
Smart Use of Space Below the Window
The client wanted a compact yet practical storage unit beneath the window. To achieve this, we installed:
- A four-drawer unit, providing storage for smaller items.
- Adjustable shelves, perfect for folded clothes and accessories.
This design made great use of an otherwise awkward space, transforming it into a highly functional storage area.
Maximising Hanging and Shelf Space
Beyond the window section, the rest of the wardrobe was designed for maximum storage capacity:
- Double Hanging with Intermediate Shelf: This section offered flexibility for both short and medium-length garments while incorporating extra shelving for additional storage.
- Corner Unit with Adjustable Shelves: This area provided ample space for folded clothes, seasonal items, or miscellaneous storage needs.
- Full-Length Hanging & Double Hanging: The remaining sections offered a mix of full and double hanging space, ensuring versatility for all types of clothing.
The result was a wardrobe that met all the client’s needs while working seamlessly around architectural constraints. One of the unique aspects of this job was that the client needed extra storage for Lego boxes and other children’s belongings, making efficient space utilisation even more critical. Thanks to our thoughtful design, they now have the perfect balance of open and closed storage to keep everything organised.
